ANTONI GAUDI
          ∙ It has a rich cultural heritage and is particularly renowned for the architectural works of Antoni Gaudí and Lluis Domènech i Montaner, which have been designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites
                    ∙ Gaudí lived from 1852 through 1926
                    ∙ He was a Catalan architect (i.e., from Catalonia) and the best known representative of the Catalan Modernist movement (known as “Art Nouveau” in the rest of Europe)
               ∙ The vast majority of his works are in Barcelona
SAGRADA FAMILIA
               ∙ His magnum opus (greatest work) was the Sagrada Família, a Roman Catholic church proclaimed a minor basilica by Pope Benedict XVI, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site
                   ∙ It was less than a quarter complete when Gaudí died in 1926; construction was delayed due to the Spanish Civil War and just passed the mid-point in 2010 - with an expected completion date in 2026 (the centennial of Gaudí’s death)
