MOOREA (BY SEA)—IMPRESSIONS (PART II)

WHAT WE DID/SAW/EXPERIENCED
∙ After lunch at a local restaurant, we returned to see the turtles and dolphins that live right here at the resort.  There was even a “baby turtle”.  Aaah.
∙ Then we headed out on a local boat for a private tour to “swim with the fishes”.  In this instance, the “fishes” were stingrays and black tip (reef) sharks!!  When I’d seen stingrays before, we were always told not to touch.  And sharks – well?  We took a “leap of faith” and headed into the water with scores of these creatures!  What an experience!  The rays loved being stroked, like my dogs (girls too).  The sharks weren’t shy about swimming right up next to us.  A most unique snorkeling experience . . .
∙ After our tour “by sea”, we returned to the hotel and hung out at the sunken swim-up bar and pool – drinking Pina Coladas and a “Banana Cocoa” (yuuuum)!  Under the right circumstances, this could be a Heavenly vacation spot!  (Bring DVD's.)
∙ At night, we went to a Polynesian barbeque (buffet) and show.  So that's where the Hawaiians got it from!

  1. Hi Sondra and Bill,

I think what you have decided to do is fantastic. To be able to spend extra time in Tahiti, Sydney and up at Cairns is a great idea. You are young and being on a World Cruise, where the average age is around 70, I can understand your frustrations at not having more of a lively time on board. Most people do not have the time or the money to spend 100+ days on board a ship until they do retire and then it is only a small minority. Enjoy your time in our country. Sydney is a great city though only the tip of the iceberg as there are so many other wonderful places to see and do here. I am enjoying your Blog and seeing the great photos.

  2. Sondra I am also following along on your fantastic journey. You are so lucky and you are doing the world adventure your way - congrats.
I love your honesty and the fact that you have included the prices - since this is a dream cruise and adventure that I would love to do but did not have any idea how much it would cost - the cruise is one thing but it is all the other incidentals that add up.
Enjoy your travels - I am - vicariously, of course.
