           • Land Mass/Continent: Dominica (dah muh NEE kuh) is a small island nation in the Caribbean (between North and South America - I told you we were going to conquer the "basics"); it belongs to the Leeward island group in the Lesser Antilles
          • About Roseau: Roseau (row sew) is the capital and largest city in Dominica
          • Estimated Population: 14,847

          • Currency:  East Caribbean Dollar (XCD)
          • Official Language:  English (due to its history as a British colony) and (unofficially) Creole (like French)

          • Effective 6/1/08, Dominica increased its minimum wage for the 1st time in 20 years - to $5XCD, the equivalent of $7,909/year (US)
          • They pay a 15% sales tax and 20% tax on income over $8K/year
          • Almost all their goods have to be imported, making it a relatively expensive place to live
          • The island of Dominica is a "young" 29 million years old (it's still the youngest of the Caribbean islands)
