∙ WHAT WE DID/SAW/EXPERIENCED
∙ Our second day in Barcelona began early (8 a.m.). We left the city and into the lush countryside of Spain to one of the most medieval towns in Europe, Girona. There, we walked the cobblestone streets and hills, where we saw the Jewish Quarter, the Arab Baths and the Romanesque Cathedral (among other things). Bells tolled and echoed down the concrete corridors. We even ran into a film crew, shooting (something) at the Cathedral, and a demonstration using loud whistles, blown in unison, to protest their own economic conditions. We also saw a red metal bridge, designed by the same man who designed the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
∙ We ate lunch and visited the village of Tossa del Mar before returning to our ship. It was a slow-paced, relaxing day in colorful Spain.
