Of the world cruises available, the itinerary for this particular trip lured me in . . . from its beginning and ending in Ft. Lauderdale (no international fligt required) to the fact that it covers all 7 continents and emphasizes the Southern Hemisphere. Due to the cruise's length, we'll have extended time via overnights in Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Sydney, Cairns, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mumbai, Athens and Barcelona.

1/4/12 - "Bon Voyage" party here in San Diego
1/5/12 - Arrive in Fort Lauderdale, Florida - "Welcome Party" and dinner
1/6/12 - depart at 5 p.m.!!
1/9/12 - Roseau, Dominica (we're going snorkeling)
1/10/12 - Bridgetown, Barbados (we're riding a zip line)
1/13/12 - Belem, Brazil (we're going on a bus and boat tour of the Amazon)
1/16/12 - Recife, Brazil (we're going on a 4X4 safari and swimming at the Waterfalls of Primavera)
1/19-20/12 - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (we're touring and seeing a Samba show)
1/23-24/12 - Buenos Aires, Argentina (we're flying to Iguazu Falls - largest in the world)
1/25/12 - Montevideo, Uruguay (spending the day in world-renowned beach resort Punta del Este)
1/28/12 - Stanley, Falkland Islands (Malvinas) (seeing the "Majestic Penguins")
2/3/12 - Ushuaia, Argentina (going to National Park and Beagle Channel)
2/4/12 - Punta Arenas, Chile ("climbing" the Andes Mountains - downhill!)
2/10/12 - Easter Island, Chile (seeing those funny-looking "Mystical Moai Statues")
2/15/12 - Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia (going on a boat tour and snorkeling)
2/18/12 - Pago Pago, Tutuila, American Samoa (touring)
2/25-26/12 - Sydney, Australia (climbing Sydney Harbor Bridge, attending "An Evening at the Sydney Opera House", cruising Sydney harbour, riding a helicopter over Sydney)
2/29-3/1/12 - Cairns, Australia (snorkeling The Great Barrier Reef; riding skyrail cableway/gondola)
3/5/12 - Slawi Bay, Komodo Island, Indonesia (visiting Komodo National Park to see the "dragons")
3/6/12 - Lombok, Indonesia (touring)
3/11-12/12 - Hong Kong, China (touring via tram, sampan boat, cable car, etc.)
3/14/12 - Nha Trang, Vietnam (touring)
3/15/12 - Phu My (Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam (touring)
3/18-19/12 - Singapore (touring and seeing night wildlife park)
3/21/12 - Phuket, Thailand (visiting Phi Phi Island and Khai Island by speedboat; snorkeling)
3/24/12 - Colombo, Sri Lanka (touring)
3/26/12 - Mangalore, India (heading off to Delhi/then to Agra to see the Taj Mahal)
3/27/12 - (spending the day seeing the Taj Mahal and other nearby sites)
3/28-29/12 - Mumbai, India (touring)
4/5/12 - Safaga, Egypt (visiting Luxor - ironically, it's an open-air museum; the "Luxor" that you see in Vegas represents the Pyramids - which are in Cairo, NOT Luxor); seeing Valley of the Kings and watching a Temple Sound & Light Show)
4/6/12 - Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt (here, we divert again, this time to see Mount Sinai, take a camel ride and enjoy an authentic Bendoin dinner; then fly to Cairo for a day on 4/7 seeing the Pyramids/Sphinx, etc., followed by a 5-star dinner cruise on the Nile with a belly dancer and show; in the morning of 4/8, we fly to Athens to rejoin our group)
4/9-10/12 - Piraeus (Athens), Greece (seeing Delphi and Athens, including The Acropolis and other amazing sites)
4/11/12 - Katakolon (Olympia), Greece (visiting Ancient Olympia & the Museum)
4/12/12 - Messina, Sicily, Italy (visiting a local winery at the base of Mt. Edna)
4/13/12 - Naples (Pompeii), Italy (taking a jetfoil ride and spending day at The Isle of Capri, my favorite spot in Italy!)
4/14/12 - Ajaccio, Corsica, France (touring)
4/15-16/12 - Barcelona, Spain (touring, seeing a Flamenco show)
4/18/12 - Cadiz (Seville), Spain (touring)
4/20/12 - Funchal, Madeira, Portugal (taking cable car to Monte; taking basket sleigh ride; touring)
So that's "all" we'll be doing . . . it could be sensory overload . . . but I can't WAIT for it to begin!
